The solider does not deserve any pity at all.
"Then he jumped in to the street. Seconds later the mother followed. Then from the windows fell burning bodies.. We shot.. Oh God!"
The soliders killed the innocent little boy, who hadn't even had a chance to live yet. The solider couldv'e changed things, he could've walked away and not have killed any Jews. He had a choice, and he chose wrong.
"Yes. I see them plain eyes before me..."
They took people's lives that didn't deserve to be killed. The solider should have to live with the thoughts of all the people he killed for the rest of his life. He doesn't deserve any pity from any. He is his own person and he can make his own decisions. Their is no one else to blame for what happened to the Jews except: the soliders, the leaders, and other countries.
